School Blog

Welcome to our blog! Led by Miss Chapman, Nathanial (Year 5), Rhianne (Year 4) and Scarlett (Year 3) will be updating you with news and photos from some of our school events throughout the year. We will also try to share some of the children's best bits of work where possible.

Currently, whilst a majority of the children are not in school, the School Blog will not be updated. However, we look forward to hopefully being able to update you in the Autumn Term with new school events!

Thursday 5th March: World Book Day!

Today was ‘World Book Day’ at Manor Field.

We have been working hard in our classes for the last week, contributing to the national ‘share a million stories’.

After showcasing our World Book Day costumes during Mrs Popplewell’s assembly, we completed some activities throughout the day: these included creating our own bookmarks and designing our own World Book Day book tokens.

After school, many of our wonderful parents and children joined Mrs Sangway, Miss Chapman and Miss Towell for bedtime hour. During the evening, we took part in a variety of activities, based around ‘The Witches’, by Roald Dahl. The children (and parents!) enjoyed hot chocolate and biscuits, before snuggling up and sharing a story.

Thank you so much to those of you who joined us and thank you to those parents (and children!) who left such positive comments after Bedtime Hour - there were so many and they were all very much appreciated.

" Thank you for always going the extra teacher mile for our children - it, and you, are appreciated xx"

"Awesome time spent with my son. That added little extra time doing something with him."

"Most enjoyable reading experience ever. Well done!"

"Great to see a World Book Day about books and not just dressing up."

"Amazing time and staff who are caring and not afraid to look silly just for the sake of the children's enjoyment."

"It was lovely to spend some 1-1 time with my daughter. We LOVE reading!"

"Always fun at sleepy hour!!"
